Join us for a powerful live performance, celebrating the voices and experiences of 6 members of Cork City's LGBTQI+ community who identify as trans+, gender non-conforming or gender creative.
At the heart of this work is a simple but powerful question:
"What would you like the wider public to know about your experience or identity as LGBTQI+ that you feel is misunderstood?"
The answers have inspired a rich, multidisciplinary performance featuring movement, dance, circus, pole, sound and live vocalisation. Rather than telling participants' stories directly, the performers respond to their words, creating a space where these voices can be celebrated.
We can't wait to share this special night with you!
The Queer Appear, Here! is part of Hear the Queer Appear, a wider project featuring ten artistic works exploring LGBTQI+ voices through sound, participation, public art and performance.
Access Information: The performance will be supported by Irish Sign Language (ISL) interpretation and audio description. Please note that Circus Factory is accessible by wheelchair but not wheelchair accessible. Seating can be rearranged to suit attendees. The ramp is steeper than most; however, staff will be on hand should you require assistance. There are no wheelchair accessible toilet facilities at present.
